There will be a Mental Health First Aid Canada: Adults Who Interact With Youth workshop/course on May 21st & 22nd, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day. It will be held at The Pentecostal Church on 126 Goldeye Crescent. The cost of the course will be $100.00 per participant which will be used to provide programming for people living with mental health problems.
This course will teach you how to help a person who’s experiencing a mental health crisis and you will receive a certificate upon completion. Some areas covered are depression, crisis first aid for suicidal behaviour, anxiety and psychotic disorders. It helps you recognize the signs, symptoms and risk factors associated with a mental health problem and how to provide help.
This course teaches you how to recognize the warning signs of suicide and how to provide help to a person who may be having thoughts of suicide.
